“Does it really work?”
For many people discovering AdPower for the first time, that is probably the very first question that comes to mind. A small sheet that controls invisible static electricity sounds counterintuitive at first. It is understandable to be skeptical.
That is exactly why AdPower has continued to pursue not only customer feedback, but also scientific validation through collaborative research with universities and research institutions.
In this article, we would like to share the story behind AdPower — from its early development in 2013 to its expansion into more than 50 countries around the world today.
Why Does Static Electricity Affect Driving Performance?

While driving, vehicles continuously generate static electricity through engine operation, tire rotation, and friction between the vehicle body and the surrounding air. As static electricity accumulates across the vehicle, it can disturb airflow around the car and contribute to issues such as:
- Reduced throttle response
- Increased engine vibration and noise
- Lower driving stability
AdPower helps suppress and discharge static electricity, improving airflow throughout the vehicle. Although the product itself is remarkably simple — just attach it to the vehicle — the technology is based on a clear physical mechanism.
The Journey of Research and Development

After years of trial and error, AdPower was officially launched in 2015.
From that point onward, the company focused heavily on scientifically verifying the product’s effectiveness through research and testing.
Key Milestones
2017 — Acquired its first patent
2019 — Began collaborative research with Japanese universities and was adopted by the municipal bus company in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
2020 — Received the Good Design Award in Japan
2022 — Obtained an additional patent and launched joint research with the Wakimoto Laboratory at Chiba Institute of Technology (Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering)
Research Is Still Ongoing

AdPower’s research and development efforts continue today.
Collaborative studies with Chiba Institute of Technology, Ritsumeikan University, and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology are still ongoing, including further verification of the product’s effects on vehicles.
As of May 7, 2026, AdPower products have been sold in more than 50 countries worldwide, and vehicle-use AdPower products have surpassed 5,000 reviews on Amazon.
Drivers around the world continue to share positive experiences and make AdPower part of their everyday driving. Backed by both ongoing research and real-world results, AdPower continues to prove its value to drivers across the globe.
